Catalina Ponor is the only Romanian gymnast to participate in three Olympics.
After his start with the national team in 2002, Ponor won several medals with the Romanian team in balance beam and floor exercise.
Ponor was unknown until the end 2003, where he made significant achievements in his career:
2003 World Championships, where he was triple silver medalist.
European Gymnastics Championships and Olympic Games in Athens in 2004, which was triple gold medalist.
Ponor retired a time in 2066 because of his injury, but then he resumed training and finally competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics with the Romanian gymnastics team, winning the team bronze medal and silver in soil.
